Half term is nearly upon us, and being February it can be cold wet and windy, well whatever the weather decides to do we have you covered with som fun and free ideas to keep the children entertained.
1. Make Pancakes
Fluffy traditional style or crepes, savoury or sweet, pancakes are speedy, cheap and so much fun.
Here’s a great vegan recipe:

All that is left is to get creative with the toppings.
2. Go on a bug hunt
Turn over logs or look under leaf piles and see what critters you can discover. This is a great activity to get the family outside and give purpose to a walk. You never know what you may find.
3. Get crafty with recyclables.
Junk crafting is a great chance to get the little ones creative juices flowing- a cardboard can become a fortress, a decorative picture frame, a puppet theatre and so so much more. Milk bottles made into bird feeders will be welcomed by the garden wildlife, or maybe a fairy house.
4. Visit a museum
They are free, educational and indoors if the weather is challenging. They often run activities throughout the school holidays, check out your local museum to see what’s on.
5. Check out your local library
Many libraries have free or budget friendly activities during the school holidays.
6. Run off steam at the park
Gather some friends and head to the park, why not mix it up by exploring a new park in a neighbouring area.
That’s our top ideas but we would love to know yours. Please leave a comment with you favourite half term activity.
